Meet The Family
It all started with a dream… and a whole lot of hustle.
Hi! I’m Menglin Arledge—most people just call me Julia. I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a degree in Fashion Design in 2010, starry-eyed and ready to take on the fashion world. Within weeks, I packed my bags and moved to New York City to chase that dream, starting a job with a production company that had locations all over the map.
Then… reality hit. The economy wasn’t exactly cheering me on, and I was laid off just a few months later. But every setback has a silver lining, right? Two weeks after leaving that job, I landed a position at Rainbow Apparel. I started in data entry, but worked my way up to buyer’s assistant in no time. I loved the experience, and I was thankful for the opportunity—but deep down, I always knew I wasn’t meant to just climb someone else’s ladder. I wanted to build my own.
That chance came in 2014.
At the time, my parents were traveling the country selling jewelry and clothing imported from China at small gift and jewelry shows. I was helping them choose merchandise and—turns out—I had a pretty good eye. The items I picked out flew off the shelves, and my parents saw potential. They offered to help me import my own designs, and I jumped at the chance. That little spark turned into a full-blown fire.
In August 2014, I nervously stepped into my first order-writing show at AmericasMart in Atlanta. I had no idea what to expect. But when one of our outfits hit the runway that evening, the crowd awed in unison—one of those moments I’ll never forget. I ended up staying until 10pm that night, writing order after order, my heart racing the whole time.
Fast forward to today: Our line is sold in boutiques across the U.S., as well as in Puerto Rico, Canada, Honduras, the Bahamas, and even Kuwait. Every day, I feel incredibly grateful to be doing what I love, growing a brand that started with a dream and a leap of faith.
To our amazing customers, friends, and family: thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for believing in us. Your support means everything. We’ll keep working hard to bring you pieces full of charm, love, and quality—styles you can be proud to carry for years to come.
With love and gratitude,
Julia
